Cannabis Strains

  • INDICA has higher levels of CBD which results in a drowsy body high sometimes described as a heavy stone. Although considered a nighttime flower, many people do medicate with an Indica through the day. You have to be careful and make sure that the heavy stone of an Indica doesn’t negatively affect your normal daily productivity. Indica helps remedy insomnia and is used for pain relief and relaxation.
  • SATIVA has higher levels of THC which results in a more energetic uplifting cerebral effect. Considered a day time flower many people medicate with a Sativa strain during a busy day. So they can avoid the drowsiness associated with an Indica strain. Sativa helps remedy Attention Deficit Disorder, depression, and appetite loss.
  • HYBRID may be predominantly Sativa or Indica dominant, some hybrids are 50% Sativa and 50% Indica giving you the best of both worlds. Hybrids can help treat anxiety.

ACTIVE COMPOUNDS

  • TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL (TCH) The most abundant and widely known cannabinoid responsible for the main psychoactive effects cannabis patients are familiar with. The compound is a mild analgesic (acting to relieve pain) and cellular research has shown the TCH compound has antioxidant activity.
  • CANNABINOL (CBD) A psychoactive cannabinoid that comes about from the degradation of TCH. CBD potentiates (increases the power) the effects of TCH and is often described as creating the stoners couch lock effect.
  • TETRAHYDROCANNABIVARIN (THCV)  THCV is found in large quantities in Sativa strains. It is currently being developed as a treatment for metabolic disorders including diabetes. THVC has been shown to block the psychoactive effects of TCH.
  • ACIDIC CANNABINOIDS The major cannabinoid constitutes in raw cannabis in the form of acids. Research suggests the acidic cannabinoids hold most of the anti-inflammatory properties, that cannabis has to offer. Acidic cannabinoids show promise in the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s disease, and Leaky-Gut syndrome.  When cannabis is smoked, the heat causes the acidic cannabinoids to decarboxylate, which creates their nonacidic counterparts, such as THC.
